So, today is the last step of the first step to my becoming one of Lubbock’s finest… or somthing like that. I am taking my polygraph… or lie detector… Then if (when) I pass, I will be finally approved to begin Lubbock’s Police Academy in January. That is the big deal. This has been a long process and Im tired of waiting… Im not real good at waiting… perhaps Gods been helping me with that. ANyway, it started with the test, then a physical fitness obstacle course, then a big scary interview, then a drug screen, then a medical exam to insure im healthy, then a psychological evaluation to make sure Im not crazy…(I passed that by the way, to all you who are making brilliant one liner jokes right now) then finally Im taking my lie detector today and I will be on my way to academy!!! YAY

So there it is… the last first step..

Love all you guys and thanks for the prayers and making me feel so much like you care.

My girls are sick, so they wont be at church tonite barry :) I might though.

I am sorry to hear your girls are sick, we have missed seeing you. Hope they get better real soon,

I am happy for you finishing up all these pre-requisites for the academy.
I hope you did not lie today,
I had a friend that did not think he lied, but did, he did not remember to tell lthem about stealing a bike when he was in elementary school. and did not tell them about it in the interview. He did not think it was big deal, since his dad had made him take the bike back to K-mart anyway, and did not know it was in the “permanent file” somewhere locked up.
Well, they knew, and he did not get in the academy.
so here is hoping you told the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
I won’t say anything about whether we think you are nuts or not.

  2. You looked so professional in your suit and tie tonight! WOW! Now we know you can dress up…you don’t ever have to come to our place like that again!! ;-)

I’m glad for you about the academy….I will ask the Father to bless you and watch over you while you go thru that and to hover over you from there forward.

Kiss those little ones and that sweet wife….oh wait…blow kisses at them so you don’t get sick too!

  3. It was good to see you tonight … dressed up looking like one of “our” finest. It was good to see your joy and relief. At least you can rest knowing that at least the city of Lubbock thinks you are physically fit, able to answer questions, drug – free, medically sound, psychologically sound, and honest.

Makes me glad that we don’t have to pass all those tests before God allows us on “His force”. How many of us would get to stick around? Funny, He picks the people that would be least likely to pass all those tests and then shows His strength through them. I like His way better … don’t you?

Hope everyone is better soon … our little place hasn’t been the same without you guys.

……Just think after a few years of patrolling Krispy Kreme that suit will have to be sold on ebay! Man have they lowered their standards at the LPD :)
